Netscape was unable to detect your modem or other connection device.

Try the following:

1

Please check that the modem cable is secure, then try to re-connect.

2

Your network and dial-up connections probably do not match those stored in your account at the remote computer.

Windows 98: Click My Computer. If Dial-Up Networking is displayed in the list, you are configured.

Windows ME/2000: Click My Computer > Setttings > Network and Internet Connections. If Dial-Up Networking is displayed in the list, you are configured.

Windows XP: Click Start > My Computer > My Network Places > View network connections. If a Dial-Up option is displayed in the window, you are configured.

3

If you changed your connection configuration recently, reboot your computer to make sure the new settings take effect - turn off your computer, wait a minute, then turn it back on and try again.

4

If that does not work, and you feel confident enough with your system, check your modem configuration. When you installed your modem, it should have also installed an application that lets you view the modem configuration. Check the modem product literature for more information. If you can't repair the configuration, delete the current configuration and re-install your modem software.

5

If the problem persists, contact a qualified technician.
